I’ve been following/reposting/talking about a wonderful lifestyle brand out of Los Angeles for about three years now. I’m a big fan of what they do.

A few weeks ago, I tried to talk to the CEO and she was completely dismissive. It was such a disappointment to find out that the person behind a brand I love couldn’t give me a second of her time.

Now when the brand’s posts pop up on Facebook or Twitter, I roll my eyes. I don’t click through or repost, either. Although I’m still “following” them, it is with a bitter taste in my mouth.

In today’s social media world, there is no room to behave this way. Though time is limited, it must be shared with “important stakeholders” and “Average Joes” alike. These days, your “Average Joe” may be your biggest advocate without you knowing…
